And one Blue Lives Matter?
I’ve worked with police I respect, a good friend and fellow hobby bandmate just retired from the county sheriff’s office, my dad was a gun-carrying lawman at the beginning of his career - I know good people sign up for that life. But I also know that police have been the blunt instruments of racial oppression since the first slave was abducted from his or her family and brought to this country against their will. You and I have very different experiences of law enforcement from black men our own age and there’s really no way either of us can understand the full impact of those experiences or the experiences of what their parents endured or had to somehow rise above. Of course officers’ lives matter but that isn’t even close to the point here - try to open your eyes and your mind to what’s going on JM.
